Although Zac Efron is not-so-visible in the paparazzi fodder nowadays, he’s in for a big role in a new film Me and Orson Welles. Although tweens might not enjoy this film so much because it’s a period drama, it’s an open opportunity for Zac to be considered as a serious Hollywood actor.

In this film, the 22 year old High School Musical star will portray the role of Richard Samuels. He is a 17 year old aspiring theater actor who’s being egged by Orson Welles (Christian McKay) to play the role of Lucillus in the Broadway production of Julius Caesar. Claire Danes will play as his leading lady in this film as the film focuses on how Richard will pursue this pretty career-driven production assistant. The film is directed by Richard Linklater and is due to be shown on November 25.
