Clooney gravitates to Bullock, Bieber getting Oscars buzz

The Justin Bieber 3D film has a fighting chance in the Academy Awards, while George Clooney is prepping to star with Sandra Bullock in “Gravity”.

Yey for Justin Bieber fans as his 3D film “Never Say Never” has been getting greater-than-huge raves as the film is buzzed to get several technical citations in next year’s Oscars. Fact is that in one category, the prospect list for the Academy Award for Best Original Song included Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never”. This was his collaboration along with Jaden Smith that had been the theme song in the OST of “The Karate Kid” shown last summer.

That’s a big achievement for Justin and a slap to all his critics who question his music career. There’s an immense shortlist for Oscar nominees and it’s expected that there will be as much as five finalists that will be called once the remaining official nominees are publicized on January 25. We’re crossing our fingers for you to notch a spot there, Bieber!

Meanwhile, Academy Awards winners George Clooney and Sandra Bullock are jubilating for a chance to work together on a film called “Gravity”. Robert Downey Jr. was supposed to be cast instead of Clooney, but Downey backed out.

It’s a welcome call for the producers of “Gravity” as the Bullock-Clooney pairing is very much anticipated. Angelina Jolie was also tapped originally for Sandra Bullock’s role – so it seems the film casting got better in return,

The film has a space age theme where Clooney will portray one of two survivors following a destruction of a space station ensued caused by some interplanetary rocks. On the other hand, Sandra Bullock will essay a role as a mom who is motivated to revisit Earth as she aims a reunion with her long-lost daughter.

What’s the best way to cap a retirement next year for Oprah Winfrey? None other than winning an Oscar award for herself! Is Oprah gunning for an Oscar win next year via her new film where she will co-star with Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep?

The last time Oprah snagged an Oscar nomination was for her 1985 film The Color Purple for best supporting actress, which went to Anjelica Huston. So in 2010, with a new comedy with a strong cast, Oprah might finally have her chance to add an Oscar leaf to all her laurels.

The film will be about three women working in a home shopping channel. The director for Sex and the City Michael Patrick King will take the helm and there are high hopes for this project. The film has no working title yet, but we’re sure everyone’s anticipating the final product next year.

Justin Bieber is said to be over Caitlin Beadles. But why did he let her drive his car? The two were spotted roaming around with Justin’s new Range Rover that Usher gave him for his 16th birthday. If there’s any deal between them, Jasmine Villegas would not be too happy to hear this if she is indeed the current girlfriend of Justin Bieber.

Jasmine Villegas have apparently caught Bieber’s heart – they were spotted cuddling and making out at the back seat of Bieber’s car in California last month. Justin admitted in an interview last month that he’s single BUT he’s looking and at the same time trying to stay single – I know it’s confusing, but that’s what he said!

Last summer, there were rumors that Justin rekindled his romance with his childhood sweetheart Caitlin Beadles, but it looks like it didn’t work out or it was a complete hoax. Well it looks like he’s not looking anymore, because he found her!

Jasmine is currently performing on Justin’s tour and she even starred as his love interest in his “Baby” music video, “I think spending too much time with her made me realize how wonderful she is, she’s makes me happy” Bieber said but he cleared that they’re not yet a COUPLE, they’re just “really cool friends,” with benefits – just kidding! What do you think, how long will they last?

Robert Pattinson Oscars Shoo-in, Kristen Stewart Scream Awards Expectations

It’s a red-letter year for Robert Pattinson as he’s already receiving feelers he might notch an Oscar best actor nomination for his performance in Water for Elephants. Well, Twi-hards might be giddy with excitement to see Rob as an Oscar statuette holder!

No less than Christopher Waltz chimed in for Robert Pattinson’s chances at the lucrative Best Actor trophy. While Waltz was talking about where he stored his Oscar statuette, he joked: “I might have to hand it off to Rob next year!” Well, the Inglorious Basterds actor is really keeping his fingers crossed on Rob’s chances, eh?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are also bracing themselves for the Scream Awards 2010. Of course, Breaking Dawn has garnered a few nominations and the rumored couple are expected to highlight the event tonight.

Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the role of a vampire known as Edward Cullen, with very fair skin, clear, and well shaven, not to mention, glowing like crystals when struck by light from the sun, is the image that has stuck in our minds when we think of the popular actor. But just recently, he has sported a more masculine look, wearing a beard which makes him even more good looking than he already is.

He did away with the clean vampire look after the shooting he had for another film, Water for Elephants. He now joins the High School Musical star, Zac Efron, who has sported a new similar image as well. We now wonder what Kristen’s reaction to this new look is. Perhaps she likes it, because they are still together.

Will he continue to sport this look until the shooting of the next Twilight series? Maybe that won’t happen, because Edward Cullen’s image will always be that of a clean shaven vampire. It sounds like there is a bit of irony in that last statement.

Anyway, this just goes to show that Edward has a very smart fashion consultant, or is he his own consultant. Then again, it may be that whatever he sports will always work in favor of him because of his natural good looks.

Kristen Stewart Trying Theater, Robert Pattinson Oscar Buzz

Kristen Stewart recently revealed that she wanted to try working on the stage. The Twilight actress has been reported to have contacted the director and one of the producers of London’s West End about a possible role.

Known for her role as Bella Swan, the human love of vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson), Kristen Stewart knows that acting in a theater is very different from acting in a movie. She said that unlike in movies, theater acting is about delivering the performance right there and there, every night.

So, is this a career shift on the part of Kristen Stewart?

Kristen, who answered her critics, last month about being without passion for her work, admitted that she only wants minor roles to begin with. Although she is keen to try being part of the theater boards in London’s West End, Kristen was insistent that she wanted to debut in a relatively small production.

This could only mean that she is still very much into the Twilight saga. Great news for RobSten fans out there.

Kristen Stewart apparently picked up her interest in appearing at West End after she recently saw a friend of hers, model and actor, Eddie Redmayne, play the starring role in ‘Red’ that was shown at the Donmar Warehouse.

In another development about Robert Pattinson, will RPatz be out to snag an Oscar?

Robert Pattinson is about to give the best performance of his career with his latest role in the film Water for Elephants. Can he really do it? Is he really that good already? Well according to the rumors he might get an Academy Award Nomination with his new role. After the nomination comes the award. Let’s just wait and see what will happen when the movies comes out.

In a recent interview with Twilight Star Ashley Greene. She revealed some juicy secrets from the set of Twilight. When asked who was the flirt on the set? She promptly answered Robert Pattinson, without thinking twice. This just confirms previous rumors that R-Patz is indeed a flirt. Not just a flirt, “but a HUGE flirt” according to Ashley. He uses his killer smile and guitar skills when trying to strike up a conversation with a girl.

That’s no shocker for us girls. We all know that even before, Robert is quite the ladies man plus his killer smile and looks; he’s definitely one big flirt. I wonder what would Kristen say when she hears about this.

What else did Ashley reveal about her Twilight co-stars? When asked about who’s the gymnast in the set, she promptly answered Taylor Lautner. Who would think that Taylor has hidden “gymnastic” skills? A werewolf with gymnast skills, LOL how nice can that be?

No one can deny that 2009 is Sandra Bullock‘s year. After winning both an Oscar and a Razzie on the same weekend for films Blind Side and All About Steve, Sandra has also managed to have a major box office hit last year opposite Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal. Everything she made this year marked a trail-blazing feat for her as the first actress winning both the best and the worst actress of the year.

Sandra Bullock had no qualms accepting her misgivings as an actress as she even attended the Golden Raspberry Awards night, the annual eve-of-Oscars awards spoof which salutes the very worst of Hollywood last year. She collected the Razzies by pulling in a wagon full of All About Steve DVDs urging them to watch the movie again, which she starred with Bradley Cooper. During her speech, Sandra jokingly expressed her surprise at how ironic that she and Cooper became the worst couple of the year when she’s playing a crossword puzzle enthusiast who’s stalking a TV camera man played by Cooper.

After winning the Oscars for Best Actress in the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, Sandra Bullock promised everyone that she would proudly flaunt her best actress Oscar statuette next to her Golden Raspberry award after winning an exceptional and dubious dual feat last night. The 45 year old actress enthused that the trophies will be sitting “side by side, as they should”. Sandra thought that:.”You take the good with the not so good. But I had the best time at the Razzies last night. It is what it is and, you know, it probably means more that both of them happened at the same time because it’s the great equalizer… You know, nothing ever let’s me get too full of myself.”

In her Oscar accepting speech, Sandra Bullock laid bare about how George Clooney had thrown her into a swimming pool. She declined to dish the dirty details of the said event but mentioned that: “There was also Tom Cruise involved in that as well, and I told them one day, in a very public forum, I would get them back, but George looked so tired tonight… I saw his (George Clooney) little eyes and said, I can’t do it to him tonight. You might want to ask George about that. See how much information he’ll give because it was funny to everyone else but me.”
