Justin Biopic Gets a Go – Jon Chu Tapped as New Director

Justin Bieber fans won’t be wrinkling their foreheads as Paramount Pictures announced that they have found a “speedy” replacement to take the helm of the Canadian star’s 3D biopic movie. As we all can remember, its first director was Davis Guggenheim but he had to refuse the offer because he has prior engagements.

So now Justin Bieber’s film will be megged by Step-Up 3D director Jon M. Chu! Chu will take over for Justin’s movie, finally you can all rejoice! In his statement Mr. Chu said: “Most people don’t know that this is a true underdog story, and I hope to tell it in a compelling, genuine way, using all source materials available to convey his tale of becoming an icon for this digital age.”

Another fabulous news is that the release date hasn’t been moved or changed, so save your Valentine’s Day film treat next year for Justin’s biopic movie. Also, another great movie we have to watch out for is Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours. Boyle was the director of the award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire, but his new movie talks about a mountain climber named Aron Ralston who amputated his arm to escape being trapped by a boulder at the bottom of a canyon in Utah. His new movie is scheduled to be released at the London Film Festival in October.

Justin Bieber 3D Biopic Release Date Indefinite

The fans of teen heartthrob Justin Bieber will just have to wait indefinitely for his biopic.

For now, it seems like the 3D concert movie of Justin is postponed – as to why? Davis Guggenheim has backed out from the project last Tuesday night. He is the director for Justin Bieber’s 3D concert movie and he reasoned that he wanted to focus on promoting his Sundance entry “Waiting for Superman.”

As of the moment, Paramount is currently busy interviewing prospective directors to lead the helm of Justin Bieber’s first film project. Davis Guggenheim is famous for his work in the documentary film by ex-Vice President Al Gore, “The Inconvenient Truth.” As we all can remember, Justin’s biopic is set to be released on the 11th of February 2011, the Valentine’s Day weekend next year.

Justin Bieber even tweeted: “Next Valentine’s we are coming with a major 3D movie telling the story with an Oscar winning director and also filming the tour at MSG in NYC!!” But due to unforeseen occurrences, IT MIGHT be moved or rescheduled to a later date.

The producer for his biopic is his manager Scooter Braun and Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid. To all his fans, all you have to do is wait for the updates on his biopic. Anyway, Justin doesn’t need an Oscar Award Winning director to direct his biopic, a not so famous one would do – because fans will still flock to theaters, we predict!

Johnny Depp Prides New Take on Alice in Wonderland

Johnny Depp feels lofty as he got the role of Mad Hatter in the new version of the film ‘Alice in Wonderland’. In fact, he’s proud to say that a ‘completely new’ take on the classic story was made to give fans the thrill of seeing it in 3D. Of course, a Tim Burton touch on the storyline will be interesting enough!

Johnny, who stars in the film with Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska, detailed how this classic story from Lewis Carroll will center on new twists, plots and visuals. It will also focus on a new angle that’s not entirely based on the original story.

The 34 year old ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star said that:”‘It doesn’t look like any ‘Alice in Wonderland’ that’s ever been before. It’s a completely new story – it’s Alice returning back to Wonderland.” The new film will be shown on March 5, will it receive success like ‘Avatar’?
