Nick Cannon Dishes on his Twins

Nick Cannon on his Twins Nick Cannon, Mariah’s husband, is still getting used to being on the headlines of every tabloid. After his publicized marriage with 10-year senior Mariah, expecting twins, and now for the unusual names they call their babies.

They chose to call the girl, Monroe and the boy, Moroccan. But he has no problem joking about it at all especially now his about to launch his first comedy special, Mr. Showbiz on May 14, 2011.

When asked how the two chose the names for their children, Cannon answers jokingly. He said:

Yeah, I heard the names have been causing quite the controversy as well… It’s funny, I always say we had our names picked out very early on — we picked one of the names like the first date that we had. But it’s kind of weird that they stayed the same.

He said, Monroe was of coursed inspired by the actress Marilyn Monroe, his wife’s idol. “And I just like the idea that is was more than just naming our daughter Marilyn. I think that would’ve been a little too cliché,” he added.

Moroccan, on the other hand, was Cannon’s pick. “it’s kind of both of our names together — Mariah and Nick together…and Rock. I actually proposed to my wife in the Moroccan room in New York, so it has a lot of symbolism,” he explained.

The couple is very happy parents now with two kids. And according to Cannon, they, or shall we say, Mariah doesn’t have plans of having another pregnancy.

Cannon said, “I keep threatening her with getting her pregnant again, and she doesn’t like it. She doesn’t think that’s funny.”
