Nicole Scherzinger Initiates Music CampPussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger is touched in the heart by her aunt who has Down’s Syndrome. She wants something worthwhile to accomplish to honor her so Nicole is initiating a music camp for people who’s afflicted with this chromosomal disorder.

The singer, who’s turning 32 on June 29, sparked a great idea into humanitarian project with the aim in teaching young people with Down’s. In her belief that music is a “universal language”, this camp will not only teach them music but it will also be a therapy for them to cope with their condition.

In Los Angeles’ Talk Radio station, Nicole said:

I grew up with my aunt who is actually younger than me because my grandmother had her at an older age and she has Down syndrome. She has always had a special place in my heart and is such a wonderful addition to our family.  I used to tell my girls in the Pussycat Dolls that I would have my own musical camp or school where I would teach people with special disabilities or Down syndrome.

Presently, Nicole is competing her heart out in the TV show Dancing with the Stars. After that gig, she hopes to concentrate on this project that will raise public awareness about music therapy and Down’s.  Her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton, has also been inspired by a disabled family member so he’s joining her in this charitable endeavor.

We never knew that Lewis’ brother Nicolas suffers from Cerebral Palsy too. In fact, he mentioned in his autobiography, ‘My Story’, Lewis wrote: “I only have to think of one person to keep me motivated and put a smile on my face, my brother Nicolas.”

We wish you good luck on your project Nicole and we know you have every good intention for it.
