Malin Akerman will take the lead role of the film “Inferno”, where Lindsay Lohan has left off.
Akerman, who also starred in the films “Couples Retreat,” “27 Dresses” and “Watchmen,” will take the lead role from Lindsay Lohan. The troubled star Lohan has been removed from the film to do the part of Linda Lovelace. If Akerman shows that she is willing to do the role as Lovelace, it is understood that Lohan is out from the film.
The “Inferno” director Matthew Wilder shared that the film will be moving on without the troubled star, though they previously assured that the production was ready to have Lohan as the lead role. Wilder confirmed, “We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan.” The director added, “We are currently in negotiations with another actress (which is Malin Akerman) and working out the legalities of bringing her on board.”
Director Wilder also explained their decision in moving out Lohan on the film. He confessed, “We have stuck by Lindsay Lohan very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support.” Wilder further explained, “Ultimately, the possibility of insuring her – and some other issues – have made it impossible for us to go forward.”
On Lindsay Lohan’s part, a representative of hers also agreed with Wilder’s decision, since the actress is still having her rehabilitation at Betty Ford Centre. The rep also shared that the role that Lohan would be playing might not be also good for her recovery.
