Liam McDermott Creating Buzz , Lorcaserin Diet Pill Shows Promise

After Dean McDermott mete a motorcycle mishap a few weeks ago, another McDermott is on the news again! It’s not about any mishap again, but this time it’s because of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s son named Liam!
Looks like their son is a celebrity in the making, he is not starting to create his own buzz in the Twitter world these days. Liam, not Miley’s boyfriend, we’re talking about Liam McDermott the 3 year old son of Tori and Dean. LOL!
Anyways, Liam has 20,000 Twitter fans already as of this moment! He’s been in Twitter for like 7 days only. Want to know why? Because of his funny and cute tweets, how can a 3 year old tweet? Blame his Mom Tori! She made his son his own Twitter account. Here are some of his cute tweets “My belly roars like a monster. It says MUST EAT LOLLIPOPS! Yum!” and “I love making jello castles. Jello wiggles and parties in my tummy.”
Here’s the most funny yet: Liam says, “Mama, you’re Lady Gaga because you have yellow hair and you are fancy!” Looks like Germanotta has a new kid fan! LOL and yes we agree with you Liam, Mommy has tons her own sense of style like Lady GaGa!
In another buzz-worthy news, there’s also a new diet pill creating jolts around the web. It’s called Lorcaserin. Actually, this diet pill is still under research by Arena Pharmaceutical. They are hoping that the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) will grant a seal of approval in their exciting new concoction!
Lorcaserin shows a lot of promise because it reduced to as much as 5 percent of body fat when used over the year as compared to those people who used a placebo. This verified by an academic study by the New England Journal of Medicine as funded by the company. There were 3,100 overweight individuals who took part in this Lorcaserin research.
Well, this blue pill certainly has an advantage compared to other diet pills because it does not induce complications to the heart and that unwanted “emergency” bathroom visits when taking Xenical. There’s no price yet for Lorcaserin but I’m sure Kevin Federline would like to know! LOL!

Actually, Lorcaserin is quite a bit more effective that your article indicates.
66% lost > 5% body weight, 35% lost over 10% and the top 25% lost better than 16.4% or an average of 35 lbs.
Any drug that produces weight loss will also help with weight related indications such as sleep apnea, cardio parameters, and type 2 diabetic conditions.
There is almost no chance that Lorcaserin will not be approved, it’s safety data is unblemished, the sample size exceeds what the FDA protocol requires and Lorcaserin meets FDA efficacy requirements:
The recent marketing partnership for its late-stage obesity drug candidate lorcaserin will also benefit Arena’s credibility with the FDA. Eisai, a Japanese company is in the top 20 pharma firms globally and has a record of extreme quality and safety. It is known for gastrointestinal drugs, among others including the well-known Alzheimer’s drug Aricept. If Eisai were not confident of Lorcaserin’s FDA approval, they would not have entered this deal.
The facts are:
First, the FDA has now made it known that the primary consideration for approval will be SAFETY and lorcaserin has a perfect safety profile based on the research results.
Patients and doctors will want to try this first before something with worse side effects (or label liability precautions).
The ONLY adverse side effect that exceed placebo by > 5% was transient headache. Drop outs attributed to adverse affects were EQUAL to placebo. Completer rates were typical of all trials.
5ht2c selectivity was proven via in-vivo chemical research and validated by echocardio testing – all negative – throughout both the PIII clinical trials on over 8500 patients.
They also have a developmental stage reverse agonist that can inhibit 5ht2a activity – could reduce heart interactions and provide treatment for arterial thrombosis.
The diabetes mellitus clincal trial (PIII) in progress will generate NDA data for potential weight treatment among type II
diabetics (statistical data are required, not just secondary monitoring measurements). Data in and nearly complete
Then there’s metabolic disease:
“Lorcaserin 10 mg twice a day promotes significant weight loss in obese patients. Lorcaserin also improves adiposopathy-related metabolic parameters such as glucose metabolism, blood pressure and lipid levels. Thus far, lorcaserin clinical trials have demonstrated no objective evidence of cardiac valvulopathy. Lorcaserin, therefore, represents an anti-obesity agent that not only improves adiposity, but also likely improves adiposopathy with potential improvements in the metabolic health of patients.”
