Dean McDermott Quitting Dirt Biking, Knowing if Your Child is Obese A recent study reveals that parents can help their children be health conscious be measuring their neck circumference. According to researchers, by measuring the circumference of the child’s neck, a parent can identify if their children is obese or not. The “circumference test” should be started as early as 6 years old.

Doctors today use a child’s BMI and weight to identify if he/she is obese. But according to the study, the BMI test is not accurate. The more accurate way to measure one’s excess body fat is by measuring their waistline, by doing so a parent can help reduce the chance of their children having complications related to obese or fat children like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart diseases. The doctor said that the neck circumference of a person is the same as their waist circumference. Now I know why my Mom usually uses my “neck circumference” when she buys me jeans. LOL

In another news, actor Dean McDermott has been released from the hospital. Last week, Dean was confined to the ICU after his motorcycle accident. Doctors advised Dean to stay away from motorcycles and continue his recovery at home. Dean will be undergoing rehab and said “I won’t do dirt biking anymore.” How true is that???
