Nick Cannon Dishes on his Twins

Nick Cannon, Mariah’s husband, is still getting used to being on the headlines of every tabloid. After his publicized marriage with 10-year senior Mariah, expecting twins, and now for the unusual names they call their babies.

They chose to call the girl, Monroe and the boy, Moroccan. But he has no problem joking about it at all especially now his about to launch his first comedy special, Mr. Showbiz on May 14, 2011.

When asked how the two chose the names for their children, Cannon answers jokingly. He said:

Yeah, I heard the names have been causing quite the controversy as well… It’s funny, I always say we had our names picked out very early on — we picked one of the names like the first date that we had. But it’s kind of weird that they stayed the same.

He said, Monroe was of coursed inspired by the actress Marilyn Monroe, his wife’s idol. “And I just like the idea that is was more than just naming our daughter Marilyn. I think that would’ve been a little too cliché,” he added.

Moroccan, on the other hand, was Cannon’s pick. “it’s kind of both of our names together — Mariah and Nick together…and Rock. I actually proposed to my wife in the Moroccan room in New York, so it has a lot of symbolism,” he explained.

The couple is very happy parents now with two kids. And according to Cannon, they, or shall we say, Mariah doesn’t have plans of having another pregnancy.

Cannon said, “I keep threatening her with getting her pregnant again, and she doesn’t like it. She doesn’t think that’s funny.”

The Karate Kid star joined in Tuesday night’s Dancing With The Stars elimination show with the week’s lowest score. His performance was affected by his injured knee.

Romeo was also at the bottom two with no injury to blame. And in the end, it was a goodbye for Romeo who had mixed emotions when leaving.

“I’m surprised because I did my best dances, but at the same time I’m not surprised,” he said. “This show has changed my life forever. I didn’t dance at my own prom. I’ve turned down a lot of movies because I was afraid to dance,” Romeo confessed.

He also expressed his love and gratitude to his pro partner Chelsie Hightower.
“I wanted to do this for you. We can dance after this,” he told her.

“I’m super happy,” she responded, “and so proud of you.

For Macchio and partner Karina Smiroff, more kicks are left for them.

Macchio, 49, became phenomenally popular as he played Karate Kid in 1984. He has been in show business all his life. Now, he took a turn in his career as he tried the challenged of dancing with the stars.

It was Monday night when Ralph tumbled all the way down to the bottom of the leader board, falling a full six points behind his closest competitor. With the competition getting tighter as it is, it could have been his demise. They surprise us though with what they did this week in the last elimination before the semi-finals.

Along with Macchio, three more stars remain: Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward and Kirstie Alley.

Every week, the American Idol finalists get to have someone to teach them on their singing techniques and improve their performance as they get nearer to the finals. This week, rumors have been spreading that the American Idol is going Lady GaGa. Yes, the remaining four finalists of American Idol gets to have top notch tips on how to develop as real performers from the performer itself, their newest mentor, Lady Gaga.

Ryan Seacrest, the host of the show, announced the news through his twitter account after the Friday Night’s Elimination, “I only have one word for our mentor on American Idol next week………. Gaga.”

The news was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly through FOX. The 25-year old pop phenomenon, Lady Gaga will be giving out advices as the top contestants belt out top hits from Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Leiber and Stroller are known for Elvis Presley’s famous songs like Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog.

These days, Gaga garners comparisons to Madonna and David Bowie. However, it is undeniable that the lady singer has made its name just the way she’s born. Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, or Lady Gaga as popularly known is an American pop singer and songwriter who became famous all over the world with singles like ”Just Dance” and “Poker Face”.

Gaga’s second studio album and third major release Born This Way will be out music stores on May 23, 2011. She announced the album’s title during her acceptance speech for Video of the Year at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

The remaining four Idol finalists are namely James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery and Haley Reinhart. Unluckily, it was the guy from Santa Cruz who got booted out. An early favorite, James Durbin has been called as the Adam Lambert incarnate, but that did not propel him to Top Two obviously. So long James!

Emma Bunton Welcomes New Baby

Remember Baby Spice of Spice Girls? She has just given birth to another baby. On Friday, May 6, son Tate was born who weighed in at 7lbs. Her representative said that both mother Emma and her son are doing well.

“And the family are over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support,” she added in her statement.

Bunton also expressed her happiness in her Twitter account.

“Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all.” The said tweet was read by her followers early morning this Friday.

Among the first to congratulate the new mother was TV presenter friend Myleene Klass, who Tweeted: ‘Huge congrats to you and your family. Little Tate is finally here!’

Both the 35-year old singer and her British singer-turned-chef fiancé, Jade Jones wrote messages in their twitter confirming the news. The couple only got engaged earlier this year. Jones popped the question last January.

Jones, was a former member of the British boy band Damage. They have been together for almost twelve years and is living in a five-bedroom home in Bunton’s native north London starting last 2005.

The two are already parents of three-year old son, Beau. Beau, which in French means “beautiful,” was born last August 2007. Their first son also weighed 7lbs when he was born.

And 2011 is turning out to be quite the family-focused year for the couple and their growing family.

Minor Damage Incurred in David Beckham’s Car Mishap

Soccer star David Beckham was involved in a minor car accident which happened at Torrence, California, about 20 miles away from downtown Los Angeles. He was at the wheel of a Cadillac that struck a stalled Mitsubishi on the highway. The incident happened last Friday.

According to California Highway Patrol spokesperson, “Mr. Beckham’s black Cadillac SUV collided with the rear of a gold Mitsubishi in the carpool lane.”

But then, the police clarified that Beckham was not injured or so.

The owner of the Mitsubishi, a 40-year old Los Angeles man, complained of pain and was brought immediately to the hospital. Beckham, however, wasn’t cited or arrested.

The English-born Beckham plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy professional soccer team. The 36-year-old Beckham joined Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007. Before that, he played in Europe for Manchester United and Real Madrid and was captain of England’s national team from 2000 to 2006.

His wife, Victoria, is a former member of the Spice Girls group. The Beckhams got married in 1999 and live in LA where David plays for LA Galaxy. The family, settled before in the Spanish capital when the footballer transferred to LA Galaxy and they bought a £14million mansion in Beverly Hills.

The couple already have three kids namely, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five. They are expecting the fourth child this summer. The two have previously spoken of their eagerness to add another family member and it is thought Victoria is keen to add a girl to their brood.

The couple has been recently spotted at the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

If $66 million in opening doesn’t thrill you, then Chris Hemsworth shouldn’t be smiling at the sky while thanking the mythical god of thunder.

Chris Hemsworth is Thor in the same movie title. Based on Marvel Comics, Thor is the who wears a suit and swings a big hammer literally emerged victorious over other films which opened this weekend by clobbering The Incredible Hulk ($55.4 million). However, playing a hero isn’t all that for Hemsworth as he admits that the real hero in his life is his father whom he looks up to.

“My dad works in child protection,” Hemsworth said. “He’s spent many, many years in that line of work. As kids, our experiences shape our opinions on ourselves, and the world around us, and that’s who we become as adults, because of that experience. So he’s certainly been my hero.”

Thor, in the movie, is not known for his modesty. Infact, he is so arrogant and almost got his fellow warriors in trouble because of his mad decisions and irrational thinking. This is the reason why the King decided to not give him his throne yet. He was casted out of his kingdom onto Earth untile he realized the real values and characteristics of a wise king. Hemsworth in real life has learned a little humility, so he keeps his movie heroes in their place.

“In movies, I think the idea of a heightened reality and then the fantasy that we’re able to be swept up in, and then these larger than life heroes and the possibility of someone much more powerful than we are, that can come and save the day, so to speak, is inspiring. It’s the people who put themselves on the line and sacrifice their own safety for the greater good and for others. I think anyone in any sort of profession who, their concern is the welfare of other people instead of individual, I think that is inspiring and important.”

Thor is now playing in theaters all over the world.

Royal Newlyweds William and Kate Reveal American Travel Plans

After a week of speculation, it is finally confirmed. Prince William and his new wife Kate Middleton will indeed visit West Coast, California for summer. The royal newlyweds will be in California from July 8-10, 2011. However, their exact itinerary will not be made public until on a later date.

It was confirmed by Clarence House just this Thursday, May 5, morning. As previously announced, William, 28, and Kate, 29, will kick off their first overseas trip with an extensive tour of Canada. Their Canada jaunt will be from June 30-July 8.

William has visited US privately before. However, the Palace notes that this will be his first official visit to the country. As for the Duchess, the U.S. trip will be a whole new thing, indeed: The Duchess of Cambridge has never visited the United States of America officially or privately.

Earlier this week, royal watcher Andrew Morton speculated that the royal couple may hang out with the likes of fellow Brits-turned-L.A.-transplants David and Victoria Beckham, who attended their royal wedding.

The royal couple – now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, after a long private weekend, have finally returned to the remote island of Anglesey in Wales, where William is based as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue helicopter pilot, putting off a honeymoon for now.

Their week-long tour in Canada this June 30 will start with a visit at Ottawa, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Alberta and the Northwest Territories, including a trip to the Arctic.

Lady Gaga already have chosen a perfect place to reveal yet another sure fire hit song from her upcoming album Born This Way. It was during her show in Guadalajara, Mexico last Tuesday night, where the Mother Monster Lady Gaga performed a slow, sexy flamenco seduction at the piano as she started the “funky bilingual outlaw love tune” Americano.

The Mother Monster, being the Queen of almost all types of medium, was seen in a YouTube video performing this song titled Americano. She was sitting at a piano as she was playing the song’s seductive Latin melody. She opened the song with some Spanish lines revealing her rebel spirit, “Mis canciones son de la revolucion/ Mi corazon late por mi generacion.” This is translated to “My songs are of the revolution/ My heart beats for my generation.”

The next lines of the song will surely make noises anywhere you go, and again building up controversies in the music scene. Gaga somehow makes a tease when she sang “If you love me/ We can marry on the West Coast/ On a Wednesday/ En el verano o en agosto (in the summer or in August).”

A line from the song spoke about Jesus, and this might bring Gaga on a controversial ride again, as the chorus sings, “I don’t speak your language, oh no.”

The newly named Duchess of Cambridge – Kate Middleton definitely swept everyone with her Alexander McQueen bridal gown. It definitely fits well for a princess. And while everyone was envious about it, they forgot that the bride has a second gown, also an Alexander McQueen creation, which was absolutely meant for a party.

After a long day which started at 6:30 am with hair and make-up, the long processional, the most awaited royal kiss, and the reception at the Buckingham Palace, Kate found time to change before starting a long night with her husband, Prince William.

While taking a brief rest at Prince Charles’ home, Kate slipped into a gown made by Sarah Burton: a white satin strapless evening gown with a diamante embedded around the waist. Warming her up in breezy 60-degree weather was a simple shrug. The look was simple but classy and ready for party.

The Duke of Cambridge also managed to pull a quick change. Prince William took aside his scarlet colonel uniform in favor of a dapper black tuxedo for the night. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Kate’s maid of honor Pippa, Best Man Prince Harry, and Kate’s parents all stepped out into new colorful outfits too.

They all headed to Buckingham Palace where Prince Charles is throwing the couple-and other 300 select guests a dinner dance. After spending the whole day as a couple with family and friends, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will likely to jet-off on a secret destination for their honeymoon the next day.

Tagged to be the wedding of the year for 2011,Prince William and Kate Middleton must have butterflies in their stomachs as their wedding day draws near. A sneak peek of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress is above, which is reportedly a sketch made by Kate herself. It’s supposed in ivory color with satin and lace appliques. This is an honor towards the Emanuel bridal dress worn by Princess Diana herself in the 80′s. There will be pearl button element and a 10-foot-train, according to the newspaper. Sophie Cranston of the Libelula label has been tasked to create Kate’s design into reality.

For her accessories, Kate has penchant for pearls and diamond earrings but most likely she will be embellish herself with borrowed jewelry from the Queen. Overall, the royal wedding this April 29 is every girl’s dream bridal event.
