Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson accused of rape

A petition for a protective order against University of Oklahoma redshirt sophomore running back Rodney Anderson has been filed in Cleveland County District Court.

The petition filed against Anderson on Monday alleges the Sooners' rushing leader forced himself on the woman on November 16 and that she remembers "feeling like (she) couldn't get away". The plan was for her to take an Uber home, but "Rodney's friends insisted that he take me home". This past weekend, I was talking to a friend about the night and started recalling images and feelings of him forcing his fingers into my vagina and feeling sick, him biting me and me not feeling like I could say anything, and trying to get away from him to put clothes on, but he followed me asking what I thought I was doing.

Charges have not yet been filed against Anderson but he was reportedly ordered to pay the court costs in the protective order filing, and a hearing has been scheduled for December 18th.

No. 2 Oklahoma is set to face No. 3 Georgia in the Rose Bowl New Year's Day, with the victor facing the Clemson-Alabama victor for the right to play for the 2017 College Football Playoff championship. He knows where I live and I'm scared for my safety. Mr. Anderson did not, nor would he ever, force himself on any woman.

The Washington Post does not normally name the victims of sexual assault.

According to Oklaw.org, the state of Oklahoma defines a protective order as "a civil court order that is created to stop violent and harassing behavior and to protect you and your family from the abuser".

In a statement, Anderson's attorney Derek Chance vehemently denied the allegations.

A lawyer representing Anderson called the allegation false and sais Anderson "will be exonerated of any wrongdoing".

Anderson now leads the Sooners with 960 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on the ground. He has 16 receptions for 283 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Anderson took over this year for departed running back Joe Mixon, who was suspended for a year after he punched a woman in a restaurant in July 2014.

University of Oklahoma officials said on Monday they are aware of the incident and investigating.
