According to ESPN's Chris Low, the Gators are finalizing a deal with Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen to take up the same position with Florida. Yahoo Sports sources also indicated that a decision is expected by the end of the day on Sunday.
Mullen has led Mississippi State to 69 victories with 49 loses over nine years.
Mullen was formerly an assistant coach at Florida during Urban Meyer's stint at the school.
Mississippi State has won its last two bowl games, most recently defeating Miami (Ohio) in the St. Petersburg Bowl a year ago.
