No major redesign expected for Samsung's Galaxy S9

In all likelihood that'll be because there probably isn't one just at the moment, Samsung probably intends to do it once the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 series are dealt with, and there's still plenty left to do on that front.

The original report, from VentureBeat, mentions that the tentatively named "Galaxy S9" and "Galaxy S9+" will only be "iterative" devices, largely building on the noteworthy, trend-launching, nearly bezel-less designs of this year's S8 duo. Even with iPhone X hanging around, one simply can not ignore the presence of the S8's display.

"... Samsung is also thought to be working on upgrades to its iris and facial recognition technology for the new devices in order to remain competitive against Apple's iPhone X with its infrared facial recognition system". If reports are true then we may see this model at the beginning of next year. It's too early to know for sure, and the sources are far from reliable, but the Galaxy S6 is widely expected to receive an official Android 8.0 update down the line.

If you focus your attention, then the Galaxy A5 2017 looks extremely familiar to the Galaxy S8, sans the curved edges. However, following much criticism, Samsung has reportedly chose to move the fingerprint scanner to below the main camera on the back of the handset. However, if you notice carefully, the fingerprint sensor sits below the camera.
