No. 7 Penn State and No. 24 Michigan State have resumed their game after a weather delay of almost 3½ hours, with the Nittany Lions leading 14-7 in the second quarter Saturday.
But following his 33-for-39, 328-yard, 4-touchdown (and 95-rushing yard) performance in Ohio State's 39-38 victory over Penn State last weekend, many are already linking the Buckeyes quarterback to college football's highest individual honor. If they won out in the regular season and beat the West division victor in the conference title game, they'd stand a good chance of getting in. Can the Spartans stay in the Big Ten title race? The Buckeyes prevailed after a furious second-half comeback, in a result that seemed to clarify the conference pecking order: Ohio State was on top, Penn State was a close No. 2, and then a gap existed between that pair and everyone else. How long of a leash will Mark Dantonio allow the run game, though?
Two Women Rescued After Being Stranded At Sea For 5 Months
The USS Ashland picked up Jennifer Appel and Tasha Fuiava after a Taiwanese fishing vessel spotted their crippled boat on Tuesday. Two women and their two dogs were rescued by a USA navy vessel after drifting in the Pacific Ocean for five months.
It was Michigan State's second win against a No. 7 opponent after beating Michigan 14-10 in Ann Arbor on October 7. Davis had an impressive run-after-the catch for a 36-yard gain, true freshman Hunter Rison had back-to-back first-down grabs and LJ Scott scored on a 3-yard run for a 21-14 advantage.
Following a turnover on downs by Penn State, Michigan State took over with four minutes remaining and drove for the game-winning score. McSorley has 47 career touchdown passes, one shy of the school record. But they close the season with a road game against a MI team that'll be eager to foil their postseason hopes, and more importantly, Ohio State doesn't look like CFP-caliber outfit right now. The Spartans are 8-5 in their last 13 games against teams in the AP top 10, including a win at MI this year.
