On Tuesday, a surprising deal was announced as the Panthers traded wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to the Buffalo Bills for a third-round and seventh-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The two worked in the Panthers organization before joining the Bills and assuming the task of fixing a franchise that appeared to be in disarray.
The Buffalo Bills have upgraded their patchwork group of receivers by agreeing to acquire Kelvin Benjamin in a trade with the Carolina Panthers. He had a spectacular rookie season in which he surpassed the 1,000-yard mark, and averaged over 13 yards a reception. He had 32 receptions on 51 targets for a team-best 475 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Benjamin has been dealing with injuries this season and hasn't been able to return to the dominant receiver he was his first couple of years in the league.

The 26-year-old Benjamin joins a team few were expecting to succeed with a rookie head coach, unproven quarterback and star wideout Sammy Watkins dealt to the Rams.
After last Sunday's win against Tampa Bay, Newton was complimentary of Benjamin, who was playing his first game in the state of Florida after the death of his mother. That completed Florida State's ideal 14-0 season.
