Chelsea FC: Star's return bodes well for striker Alvaro Morata

Conte simply doesn't trust Morata's alternatives and as a result Chelsea now find themselves six points off the Manchester clubs in a competitive title race.

Eden Hazard will be looking to support Alvaro Morata up front with his creativity and Willian, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi are the attacking options the Chelsea manager has on the bench for Manchester City. He certainly shouldn't be judged exclusively on his goal return, but he will need a greater efficiency in the tournament to be labelled amongst the top three on the planet.

If Morata was able to recognize the injury early - his midweek knock was supposedly an ankle, a different, probably unrelated issue - hopefully he will be able to avoid any significant damage by taking the next two weeks off. Spain should be able to make do without him; Chelsea can't really. Morata spent two years at Juventus and although he was a regular starter in his first season in Turin, Max Allegri usually picked up the likes of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in the second campaign of Morata with the bianconeri.

Fantasy points per game don't tell the whole story in all honesty, as Hazard is averaging 4.4 whilst his Belgian counterpart averages 12.4, despite their hugely contrasting minutes played.

"Last season Manchester City was a very good team, very strong".

Moyes may have failed in the managerial dug-out but his two signings - Juan Mata was the other - have proved impeccable. As for his own team's strengths, Goncharenko commented: "I have no doubts that we have a lot of experience and class".

Morata headed in a 59th-minute cross from the exceptional Eden Hazard to move on to seven goals in all competitions this season and worse was to follow for Diego Simeone's men.

"I think after this transfer market they improved a lot". I've been involved pretty much from the start so, right now, I'm happy.

'I respect his work, and I like to watch his games because every coach tries every day to take in more information, new ideas and then tries to elaborate them with your thoughts.

"N'Golo Kante played an unbelievable game, but we are used to seeing that because he is a fantastic player", Conte said after Chelsea's win over Leicester. The former Real Madrid man is ice cool with the ball hurtling towards his head and so far 50% of his Premier League goals have been headers. It's important to understand when there is the room to travel, to go to see a game or for other situations.
