Dera search: Tunnel connecting Ram Rahim's 'gufa' to sadhvis' hostel found

A tunnel and a passageway connecting Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's quarters to the hostel of his female disciples were on Saturday found by the security agencies during the second day of a massive sanitisation exercise inside the headquarters of his sect.

Earlier, the search operations inside the 700-acre Dera Sacha Sauda complex in Sirsa district of Haryana have revealed that an illegal explosives factory, plastic cash tokens and a luxury vehicle estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

Giving details, Mehra said that a health department team searched a hospital running inside the Dera and sealed a skin bank which was allegedly "running without licence".

Sirsa-headquartered Dera chairperson Vipassana Insan had said that Honeypreet and Dera spokesperson Aditya Insan should help the investigations.

JCB machines, locksmiths, forensic experts and dog squads were called in to assist a comprehensive search operation launched by security agencies and district authorities at the Dera premises.

On the instructions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court yesterday the search of Dera campus was started. Now, it is being said that she may even be facing a threat to her life.

An unregistered luxury auto was also seized on Friday from the Dera during the sanitisation exercise, according to officials.

As per Rao, the Dera chief had Z-plus security from quite a long time and a team of 650 commandos of Haryana police escorted him on his way to the court.

#According to reports, two secret tunnels - one leading to the women's (Sadhvis residence) hostel was found in the Dera headquarters.

The local administration had banned mobile Internet services, including SMSes, in Sirsa district till September 10. The Gufa itself is spread over in an area of almost 100 acres.

There was large scale violence following the sect heads conviction which left 41 people dead including 35 in Panchkula and six in Sirsa. The Dera headquarters also houses a 7-star MSG Resort and has a replica of the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Kremlin and Disney World inside its premises, with flashy pictures of Ram Rahim adorning the campus' walls.

"The vehicles have been taken in possession and the dera people have been told to show documents of ownership and registration of these vehicles" said the SSP.
