Two nights after an unforgettable SummerSlam, the 940th edition of WWE SmackDown LIVE came to you, live from the home of this year's SummerSlam, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Will Nakamura be looking for payback?

SmackDown Live on Tuesday was packed with new storylines and superstars, along with a big-name return and yet another showdown between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens for the United States championship.

Shinsuke Nakamura was devastatingly close to winning the WWE championship at Summerslam on Sunday, but thanks to some help from the Singh Bros., Jinder Mahal managed to prevail at the eleventh hour once again. Styles called Owens a whiny bitch and gave him a title match for tonight. How could Sami Zayn be left out of SummerSlam?

Red Cross believes at least 600 missing in deadly Sierra Leone mudslides
Bodies have continued to be retrieved from the mud and rubble, but efforts to identify them are proving hard in the chaos. Almost 400 people are confirmed dead after a mudslide in the Regent area and floods elsewhere in Freetown on Monday.

2-On-1 Handicap Match: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Frustrated, Corbin handed McMahon the referee uniform making the commissioner now in charge of the match. Baron Corbin convinced Owens to let him be the referee as long as Corbin gets first dibs at the title. The Glorious One used his signature Glorious DDT to defeat English before giving an in-ring interview to Renee Young. Will Shane have to answer for his less than impressive performance as referee?

He hit Owens with a Pele Kick and then a Styles Clash to pin Owens to keep his title in a thrilling match. Shane McMahon was the special referee for their SummerSlam encounter and counted Styles down for three, which would've given the title back to Owens. While Corbin is distracted, Kevin Owens low blows Styles and when Corbin goes to count the pinfall, McMahon pulls him out of the ring to make sure there is a clean win. Styles followed up with the Styles Clash and then got the pin to retain the U.S. title.

It's a bit odd for Gable to have a tag team partner 11 years his senior, certainly one who is in his second stint with the company after a long time away. Bryan booked Shinsuke Nakamura against The Singh Brothers tonight.

Carmella tries to stay out of the match but once she's tagged in, Naomi hits her with the split-legged moonsault to pick up a win, gaining some of her momentum back.
