Lamborghini has launched a new smartphone and you probably can't afford it

Luxury phone maker Vertu recently kissed the market goodbye after being enmeshed in huge debts but it seems the British phone company has got a quick replacement in Italian design firm Tonino Lamborghini.

While you were busy changing the energy saving light bulbs in your house, Lamborghini developed the Alpha One smartphone, for discreet, but successful people. In 2015, it introduced the 88 Tauri and Antares, compared to which the Alpha-One is less extravagant in the looks, but it's still just as expensive, with a United States dollars 2,500 price tag. While this is all the luxury the phone offers for shelling a sky-high amount of money, the specs are something that you will not be smitten by. The premium smartphone will be available at the Levant luxury boutique in the Dubai Mall and in the shops of selected highest-level hotels in UAE, such as Levant Boutique at Atlantis Hotel The Palm, Jumeirah Al Qasr Hotel, Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel, Four Season Hotel, and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel.

To somewhat justify the cost, the Alpha-One has an Italian leather back and liquid metal for the side frame.

The Alpha-One has a 5.5-inch display with a 2,560 x 1,400 pixel resolution, a 20-megapixel (MP) main camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, and a gold-colored fingerprint scanner on the rear.

Barcelona to sue Neymar over PSG move
Barcelona continue to express their public disagreement after the player paid the buy-out clause to end the contract unilaterally. The demand appears to relate to a payment made to Neymar when, in 2016, he renewed his contract with Barcelona through to 2021.

Some smartphones with similar specs from other companies were released as early as in the first half of 2016, and many of them are now priced much cheaper.

From the outside, the Alpha One is rather boxy in appearance. Further, the phone is also available for global delivery and the shipping is free of cost.

The Alpha-One, clearly aimed at men of a certain mindset, is only available at Harrods in London in a space dedicated to expensive tech gadgets. The handset was powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and packed in 3GB of RAM.
