A single ticket sold in IL matched all six numbers in Friday's (Aug. 11) Mega Millions lottery drawing with a jackpot worth $393 million. The Illinois Lottery says a suburban Chicago barbecue restaurant sold the winning ticket.
If the owner of the winning ticket chooses the lump sum, they'll walk away with about $247 million before taxes. It was the largest jackpot in nearly a year, and the fifth largest prize in the game's 15 year history. Those tickets were sold in Washington state, OH and California, according to a release. The winning numbers drawn Friday night were 23, 33, 53, 56, 58 and the Mega Ball was 6. Tonight's Powerball prize is worth $356 million.
Nobody has won the Powerball jackpot since June. He won $61 million.
Man 'tried to sell' kidnapped model online
The kidnapper used an encrypted account to ask the model's agent for £230,000 ($300,000) to stop her from being sold in auction. The woman, who has not been named, was allegedly kidnapped by two men on 11 July as she turned up for a fake photo shoot.
The jackpot resets to $15 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

The chances of winning either amusement are outrageous - one of every 292 million for Powerball, and one of every 259 million for Mega Millions. Two other jackpots have also been awarded this year - $191 million, also in California, and $177 million to a ticket he purchased in Arkansas.
