Google Glass has returned not as a personal device but, as Forbes magazine noted, as a business tool, created to help workers in specific fields like manufacturing, logistics, and health care. Google said it has worked with over 30 experts over the past two years to build customised software and business solutions for Glass for people in such fields. In addition, the connected specs are more powerful and contain a longer lasting battery than the previous Explorer's Edition.

Google had stopped production of its smart glasses after they received a rather lacklustre reception to the comical appearance and privacy issues the smart glasses threw up, combined with the high price of the wearable put off consumers.

Google Glass has been in use by some 50 organizations, and the team is working to develop new industry solutions.

Workers from AGCO Corporation, an American agricultural equipment manufacturer, are using Glass to see assembly instructions, make reports and get remote video support. Other companies already using Glass include DHL, Dignity Health, and Sutter Health.

While publicly Alphabet seemed to have given up on the project, it had secretly commissioned a small group of people to develop a version for the workspace, re-imagined as an enterprise tool to save time and money, it is now called Glass Enterprise Edition. Hit the link for more details.

Losing the first Test was a shock but the way we bounced back was only because of the team culture that was created at that stage. India will play three test matches, five ODIs and a Twenty20 in Sri Lanka with the first test starting on July 26.

We heard about the Enterprise Edition back in July 2015, half a year after Google discontinued the commercially-available Explorer Edition, and since that time the search giant says that it has tested the headset as part of a limited program open to select businesses. Confirming that the wearable specs have a place in the business world, X, the division of Google parent Alphabet that produces "moonshot technologies", has introduced the Google Glass Enterprise Edition.

By pivoting away from the consumer market, Glass may just have found a way to rewrite its legacy. This latter use case has apparently improved DHL's supply chain efficiency by 15%.

The design of the glass has also been improved. Alphabet's project managers were pretty confident about the new Google Glass, as it offers assistive information for operations and therefore enhances productivity.

Google has brought back its Google Glass wearable in a new package and for a new audience.
