Dileep's bail plea rejected, to remain in jail till July 25

The special prosecutor recalled the actor's statements and reactions before his arrest which apparently preyed on the victim. The prosecution argued that the actor might erase the evidence if he gets bail.

He will have to remain in police custody till July 25. A leading actress was abducted by a gang in a pre-planned strike on the night of February 17 when she was heading for Kochi from Thrissur in a vehicle.

The government lawyer also pointed out that no accused arrested in connection with the case had been granted bail. At the same time, the police also say that Dileep is no longer co-perating with the investigation. Also the police tried calling him in all his five different numbers but his mobile phone was switched off.

The news of Malayalam superstar Dileep's arrest on actress'abduction case has sent shock waves to the film fraternity. The actor responded to the court's query that he did not suffer any ill treatment at the hands of the police. Meanwhile, the police carried out searches at Dileep's residence. This is what is prompting the police to arrest Appunni. Earlier, the local court had remanded the actor to 14 days judicial custody. It is said that he wanted to blackmail the actress using the video footage of the sexual assault filmed by his aide Pulsar Suri who was the prime witness in this case.

Police in its remand report had claimed that Dileep had developed a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife know about his alleged affairs and hatched a conspiracy to take revenge way back in 2013.
