As part of a financial restructuring, children's clothing retailer Gymboree is closing about 350 stores, including one at Peninsula Town Center in Hampton. Seven of the locations are in Colorado.

Gymboree Corp. said store closing sales will begin Tuesday, July 18.

No word on the exact date the stores will be closing.

Gymboree filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy last month. It is the Gymboree at the West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Gymboree at the Fox Run Mall in Newington will also close. A insane 8 store at Chesterfield Mall also will be shuttered.

China Demands That India Pulls Back Border Troops Immediately
India has said Beijing's action to "unilaterally determine tri-junction points" is in violation of a 2012 India-China agreement. Both last held a structured meeting in June in Kazakhstan during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.

A dozen Gymboree stores are closing in Texas including locations at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville and the Collin Creek, Preston Park and Shops at Willow Bend shopping centers in Plano.

The company also owns the children's apparel store insane 8, and will be closing three North Carolina stores, including in Hickory's Valley Hills Mall. A news release said it will focus its resources on its more than 900 remaining stores "with the greatest potential and improve the profitability of the overall business".

The company said the affected stores were chosen "following a comprehensive evaluation of its retail footprint".

Numerous national retailers have abandoned ShoppingTown in recent years.

Gymboree joins a growing list of retailers to announce the closing of some stores as mall traffic declines and competition from online retailers such as Amazon intensifies.
