Please keep the member of my staff and all members of the congressional baseball team in your thoughts in prayers during this extremely hard time.

Shots rang out around 8 a.m. ET during Wednesday's baseball practice for Republican congressmen in Alexandria, Virginia.

"He is receiving medical attention but is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery", Williams wrote. U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise was among those shot, according to multiple media reports. Police say they got here in about 3 or 4 minutes and I'm sure that's the case but it was a long time, they say 60 shots were fired but without our Capitol Police who literally took a step forward when they didn't have to, they could've took a step backwards, they stepped forward.

A spokesman for Brady said the congressman had left the baseball field just before the shooting and was not injured. "Officers of the Capitol Police returned fire and ran towards the shooter, risking their lives while saving others", Rep. Joe Barton said in a statement. "The heroes are the Capitol Hill police, the Alexandria police and Steve Scalise's security detail".

Numbers drawn for 10th largest lottery jackpot
Tickets always start flying out the doors once the jackpot gets this high, which just makes the jackpot grow even more. Powerball players apparently will have a chance to win the 10th largest lottery prize in US history.

At a mid-morning press conference, law enforcement officials said it was too early to comment on a number of aspects of the shooting, including whether the lawmakers were targeted.

Since 1909, teams comprised of members of Congress from both parties have squared off to raise money for charity - and this year's game is scheduled to go forward as planned Thursday at Nationals Park in Washington.

"We are all Americans, and we must stand together against any attempt to divide us", U.S. Rep.

Williams was a standout outfielder and third baseman at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth from 1968 to 1970, and briefly played for the Atlanta Braves farm system.

In a tweet, Tim Walz said "My prayers go out to the victims of the congressional baseball practice shooting".
