Corden's signature late night skit began with the host picking up Sheeran who had left his guitar at his house the previous night.
Finally, Corden performed a traffic-themed rendition of Sheeran's 'Castle on the Hill, ' saying that it was a ideal song to sing along to when you are stuck in traffic.
"What I enjoy is bringing people that don't drink in dive bars and skanky pubs to said dive bar or skanky pub", Sheeran told Corden.
During the drive, they sang a reworked version of Castle on the Hill to address the L.A. traffic, plus covers of One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful and Love Yourself, a song he co-wrote with Justin Bieber.

Daniel Doudna, 13, of Fairbanks, Alaska, said it was "amazing" to be the third child in his family to attend the national Bee. After the bee, Sylvia said she and her older sister Sophia came up with the idea for the question while they were studying.
A non-musical highlight for us was when the "Photograph" artist shared the story of how he hit Justin Bieber in the face with a golf club - that happened like a week ago. "He put a golf ball inside his mouth and said 'go on hit it out" and I was pretty hammered.
It didn't reach the heights of Katy Perry or Harry Styles, to name some recent ones, but we did get to see Ed Sheeran fit 55 malted milk balls in his mouth, so that's something. Though insane, the singers did it and Sheeran "cracked him across the face".
"There is a snack in Britain called Malteasers (chocolates)", Corden said, "I heard you can fit 47 in your mouth".
The British singer also touched on his attachment to his guitar, saying he always feels more comfortable with it in hand.
