As an expanded version of Monster Hunter Generations, Monster Hunter XX is now available on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.

"Monster Hunter" is not well known in western markets, but analysts say it is credited with helping sales of Nintendo's handheld 3DS console.

That said, Capcom has revealed nothing about Monster Hunter XX: Nintendo Switch Ver. beyond the fact that it will exist at some point. It will be during this event where we'll get many more details on the game, as well as its release date. While Capcom and Nintendo have a lengthy history of working together, the Street Fighter franchise has mostly been absent on Nintendo consoles, with the series last releasing on a Nintendo platform back in 2011.

As the performance ended, Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson acknowledged the cheering crowd with a question: "Wait, wait", he said. The circus' last show of three scheduled Sunday at the Nassau County Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, is sold out.

Monster Hunter XX - pronounced "double cross" - is the latest entry in the action RPG series; an expanded version of Monster Hunter X, which was released in the USA in 2015 as Monster Hunter Generations. The game is visually stunning and its extraordinary flexibility gives players the elbow room to switch between the high definition version and the original arcade graphics. The game was originally released on the 3DS as a somewhat larger version of Monster Hunter Generations.

Hopefully Capcom will share first footage soon.
