Tom Cruise Confirms A Top Gun Sequel!

Looks like Tom Cruise still has the need for speed!

The actor, in the country promoting The Mummy reboot, broke the news to Sunrise hosts Sam Armytage and David Koch this morning.

"It's true, yeah it's true", said Cruise. "It's true." He went on to say that filming will probably begin next year.

"Listen, it's an iconic character that [Cruise] helped create, so I think we would like to see what happened to Maverick for the last 30 years".

"It's happening, it is definitely happening".

Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise has finally put an end to years of speculation by confirming there will be a remake of cult film favourite Top Gun.

Kilmer was also asked if the on-screen rivalry between his character Iceman and Cruise's character Maverick was present off-screen as well. A year ago we we were treated to this lovely photo of Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer together sharing that they were chatting about the film. "It is definitely happening. you're the first people that I've said this to".

Some time back Cruise clarified on ' The Graham Norton Show' that they were trying to figure it out, how to move forward with the movie.
