She was named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana as a tribute to Diana's grandmother, Princess of Wales and Queen's grandmother.

Kate also took the official snap of Charlotte on her first birthday as well as the first images of Prince George and Charlotte together shortly after the little princess's birth.

The new official photograph of Princess Charlotte.

The new photo was taken in April by her mother on the grounds of the family's countryside home in Norfolk, England.

This will be the Cambridge family's last summer at their residence in Amner Hall before they swap Norfolk for London to take up permanent roles as full-time royals.

In the image, Charlotte is wearing a knitted yellow cardigan with a sheep motif and a navy blue clip in her hair.

Although her parents have kept the toddler out of the visible spotlight as much as possible, the young princess has made several public appearances recently.

The Astana talks were meant to shore up an oft-violated ceasefire which was originally agreed in December. But US participation has been lacking and Syrian rebel groups are not stakeholders.

But while Charlotte is undeniable cute in the picture, her cardigan is what's got people talking.

We can expect at least one more public glimpse of the two children on May 20, when Auntie Pippa Middleton marries her London finance manager fiancé, James Matthews.

Kensington Palace shared a rare portrait of Princess Charlotte Monday ahead of her May 2 birthday.

Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte arrive at a children's party at Government House in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, September 29, 2016.

Prince William and Kate released a picture of Prince George for his second birthday too, as he could be seen laughing in his father's arms.

It's the family's last summer in Amner Hall before they swap Norfolk for London to take up permanent roles as full-time royals, so they will no doubt want to make the most of the handsome surrounding countryside. Some did not fail to emphasize Charlotte's resemblance to his great-grandmother Elizabeth II. This is not the first time the young princess has been dressed in John Lewis, she wore the brand's off-white Baby Wadded Snowsuit during a trip to the French Alps a year ago.
