Fox host takes vacation after Ivanka Trump microphone quip

The explanation came too late for many (and didn't much much sense either).

With that said it is hard to believe that Watters would attempt any type of sexual joke aimed at Ivanka Trump.

The next day, Watters insisted that he did nothing of the sort: "On air I was referring to Ivanka's voice and how it resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ".

Watters has denied that he was referencing anything sexual with the joke.

Unless you're a regular Fox News viewer, you're probably only familiar with Jesse Watters as the talking head whose cringe-worthy attempts at humor occasionally make him a trending topic on social media.

Fox News host Jesse Watters announced late Wednesday that he is taking an abrupt vacation from "The Five" following backlash over sexually charged remarks about Ivanka Trump.

He's also slated to make another $400K at an upcoming Health conference by Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald. Obama, 55, has kept a low profile since he left the White House in January, after two terms as president.

O'Reilly left Fox News earlier this month after a New York Times report on millions of dollars in settlements paid out to women who accused O'Reilly of harassment.

I find that once again I am forced to apologize for inappropriate remarks I've made on-air.

During Tuesday night's show, Watters joked about Ivanka Trump's voice after a clip of her speaking in Germany was played.

Watters also hosts the Saturday-night program Watters' World on Fox, and his recent gig on The Five was perhaps a sign of his rising stock at the company, particularly in the wake of losing star anchor Bill O'Reilly over sexual harassment claims.

It's hard to ignore the timing of his trip - it's particularly odd given that following O'Reilly's departure, Watters moved into primetime this very week. Like the simple-minded older brother who stumbled into trouble that either embarrassed or imperiled his family's criminal enterprise in "The Godfather II", Mr. Watters consistently does things that would disqualify him for employment at every other media organization but Fox News.

This isn't the first time Watters had to issue an apology or clarification for one of his Fox segments. One could only imagine that Jesse would feel mortified now that people took his comment and gesture to be lewd and aimed at Ivanka.
