The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a decision to call up top prospect Cody Bellinger.

Bellinger was batting.343 in 18 games with Oklahoma City, posting a 1.055 OPS.

The Dodgers offense has been mediocre to start the season and calling up Cody Bellinger, the #10 ranked prospect in baseball, might be the spark they need. Bellinger is expected to primarily play center and left field while he's up with Los Angeles, although his ability to play first base could also allow him to spell Adrian Gonzalez every now and then.

Bellinger made his first list after that big season, but only on the Baseball America prospect list, ranking #54 overall. Franklin Gutierrez (hamstring) and Joc Pederson (groin) all now sidelined, the 21-year-old carries immediate fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues after tearing it up in the minors. Let's hope Pederson's injury isn't too severe and we can see both Bellinger and Pederson in the outfield at the same time. He may be able to replace Andrew Toles eventually in left field.

"With the injuries that we have Cody gave us coverage anywhere in the outfield, at first base", Roberts said.

Yeah I haven't heard a word I'm just going to go out ever day and try and perform and help the team win.
Bellinger is the true meaning of a five-tool player, and he could offer that much-needed power boost that the Dodgers' lineup has been missing.

The 21-year-old was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2013 amateur draft. He did struggle to find consistency this spring only hitting.207 with 20 strikeouts, but he did display his power ability with two moonshots. Last season, between Double-A and Triple-A, Bellinger hit.284 with eight home runs against lefties.

The Dodgers have now put 12 different players on the DL since Opening Day, an alarming number since they have played only 19 games.
