The show, set to kick off at 9 p.m. ET from Basketball City at Pier 36 in NY, will serve as "the NBA's official annual award show to honor all of the league's top performers on one night for the first time".

The NBA is changing up the way it announces its awards winners with a huge televised show that will take place on June 26, after the 2017 NBA Draft and the NBA Finals have concluded.

Drake himself had hinted at the appearance back in January on University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari's podcast. An NBA awards show concept was first introduced in November. "I love being in a room full of iconic, legendary people that I look up to and having that pressure of having to make them laugh and enjoy their evening".

S. African parliament postpones Zuma no-confidence vote
Political analyst Ralph Mathekga said the apparent confusion showed how crucial the court decision was to the no confidence vote. South Africa's parliament has chose to postpone a debate and a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma, officials said.

Additional categories will include fan-voted awards. These awards are typically announced throughout the playoffs but the league has finally made a decision to give these guys some love on one star studded night. He also hosted the 2014 ESPYs, so his new hosting gig is especially fitting.

With Drake acting as a producer of the show and his longstanding relationship with the NBA-he's an ambassador for the Toronto Raptors-odds are his creative freedom will be even higher this time around.
