Bloomgren, a former National Football League assistant, said McCaffrey will fit in the modern National Football League because "teams want to run 21 personnel (two running backs, one tight end) and then split Christian out wide and run 3x1 trips (three receivers stacked on one side of the field)". He's going to elevate his brand and draft stock with his flawless use of Twitter. Gettleman feels like they're other running backs that could fit the Panthers scheme outside of Fournette and McCaffrey. We can all agree that, with feet like that, wherever he lands will have an explosive weapon coming out of the backfield. Guys like Christian McCaffrey are also great returns. At Stanford McCaffrey returned kicks, caught passes, ran the ball, and even threw a touchdown pass.
"To me, a first-round quarterback should be capable of starting in Year One", Mayock said, "and I don't believe he can".
Gettleman said Friday at a pre-draft press conference that he's very excited that the Panthers have four picks in the top 98 of the draft.
Gettleman said they will draft the best player available. It certainly sounds like Gettelman envisions McCaffrey as an every down back. On Friday, he estimated there are "about a half dozen" of those guys in this draft.
Gettleman's discussion of the top running backs in next week's draft (April 27-29 in Philadelphia) will fuel the thought that the Panthers will target a ball carrier with their top selection.
Patriots meet Trump without Tom Brady, some teammates
Thank you to the President for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember. Kraft presented Trump with a personalized jersey and Belichick gave Trump a personalized helmet.
"The last two years he's rushed the ball for 650 and he's caught another 90 balls", he said. Gettleman, who is sitting at No. 8 in this year's draft, doesn't buy into that.
Tennessee's Alvin Kamara finished with a 24, which was the highest of the running back scores listed in McGinn's report.
The following slides are my draft notes as well as my pro-player comparison for the young running back. "You are not going to win if you can't run the rock, plain and simple".
What a lot of the running backs in this class bring to the table is versatility.
