The first video to surface shows an officer kicking a handcuffed man in the head as he lays in the middle of a major roadway during a traffic stop.

The termination of now former officer Robert McDonald, who had been with the police agency for about three years, was announced at a Thursday afternoon news conference.

Last Wednesday, Sargent Michael Bongiovanni had pulled a motorist, Demetrius Hollins, to the side in what is considered a routine stop, said the police Chief Butch Ayers.

Witnesses say they were stunned after watching a police officer punch and kick a man in broad daylight during a traffic stop.

"He start [ed] shoving me in my vehicle and telling me that I was never going to have a video, that I was never going to make the phone call to my mom", he told NBC News in an exclusive interview.

"The video was contrary to what was reported by Michael Bongiovanni", Gwinnett police said in a statement.

"We are extremely happy that the command staff of the Gwinnett Police Department heard our voices (and)¨did the noble and honorable thing, and that's to fire this officer and seek criminal charges", Maejor Page, the president of Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, wrote on the group's website.

But that one would have condemned the USA missile strikes ordered by President Donald Trump in response to the chemical attack. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov blasted U.S. claims that it has "irrefutable evidence" of election interference.

"The revelations uncovered in this entire investigation are shocking", read a Gwinnett PD statement tweeted Thursday night. Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter said he "anticipated" there being criminal charges filed against them.

"But I don't know what they are yet".

Bongiovanni struggles briefly with a screaming Hollins before bringing him under control. Police directed him to leave the vehicle off. Police report they smelled marijuana from the auto and told the drive he had been pulled over for changing lanes three times without using a signal. Bongiovanni says when he approached the vehicle he smelled marijuana.

An Ohio police officer captured on video apparently kicking a handcuffed suspect in the head also was involved in a fatal shooting past year. It wasn't immediately clear whether either man had an attorney who could comment.

"My name is Demetrius Hollins and all I can say is I wish this never happened to me", Hollins said. Justin D. Miller said at a news conference Saturday, April 15, 2017, that the firing of Sgt. Bongiovanni and Master Police Officer Robert McDonald was not enough.

But a second video surfaced online Thursday, just hours after McDonald was sacked. Hollins yelled and refused to obey orders and resisted when Bongiovanni tried to arrest him, the report says. After that McDonald came on the scene and stomped him in the face. When he got out to talk to the driver, the officer claimed he could smell marijuana. He and several other officers were named officer of the month for November 2015 after they helped arrest two suspects following a robbery. The officer then immediately requested a backup unit for assistance.

"Their actions send a signal to the community, the department and to the nation that the conduct reflected in the video will not be tolerated", Stephens said.
