Deulofeu feels Milan switch has earned him Spain call

The 23-year-old is now on loan at the Rossoneri from English Premier League side Everton until the end of the season, after seeking a move away in search of regular first-team football.

However, his performances have also attracted the attention of Barcelona, who hold an option to re-sign him this summer, and director Robert Fernandez admitted that it was one they could be tempted to exercise, although Deulofeu was cool on that idea.

Deulofeu eventually joined Everton on a permanent basis in summer 2015, but has now fallen out of favour under current boss Ronald Koeman.

Deulofeu's career has been reignited by the Rossoneri with 10 appearances in all competitions - which has yielded a goal and three assists - helping him earn a recall to the senior Spain squad for matches against Israel and France. He has completely ruled out a return to Everton after his loan spell at the Serie A side ends.

"If I had not accepted Milan then I definitely wouldn't have been called to the national team".
