'SNL's' Weekend Update to Air in Four Primetime Specials

Each episode will be a half hour, with the first set to air at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 10.

Other SNL cast members are expected to appear as well.

Sectors experiencing the largest gains include construction, which added 6,100 jobs, and financial activities, which added 1,300. Hawaii had the second-lowest rate in the US , with 2.8 percent, followed by Colorado and South Dakota, at 2.9 percent each.

"'SNL' is having its best season in a quarter of a century", Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment said in a statement. Previous "Weekend Update" anchors include Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Dennis Miller, Norm Macdonald, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers.

NBC could not be happier with Saturday Night Live this season in both ratings and overall press.

Back in 2008, Weekend Update aired three primetime specials, with three more airing the following year. SNL also holds the title for the most nominated television show in Emmy history with 219 nominations.
