Taking a look at the Michigan's chances in the Midwest Region

Awaiting the Jayhawks after that opener in Tulsa would be the victor of the Miami-Michigan State game.

Jacksonville State won an NCAA Division II championship in 1985, but had not reached the postseason since moving to Division I in 1995.

The Cats will face the No. 15 seed Northern Kentucky in Indianapolis on Friday. At least for one game. "We are just going to keep trying to hammer on them". The Wolverines were very close to being 6-5 on the road, and then I think it's very likely they're going into the tournament as a No. 5 or 6 seed. Pitino and the Cardinals faced Beilein and MI in the 2013 NCAA finals.

Villanova is trying to become the first team to repeat since Florida in 2006 and '07, and Duke stands in the way of the Wildcats in the East.

But that's a long way off.

Making things more interesting, of course, was Izzo's admission that rival MI - the victor of the Big Ten Tournament - probably deserved a better spot than a No. 7 seed in the Midwest, the same region MSU finds itself in.

The Michigan State baseball team spent its spring break last week in SC, playing six games against five teams in the main stretch of its nonconference schedule. No 16-seed has ever beaten a No. 1. The Ducks are without one of their top players, Chris Boucher, who is out with an ACL injury. They'll face the victor of the play-in game between NC Central, a team who leads the nation in 3 point defense (i.e. defensive luck) and free throw defense (literally not a thing), and UC-Davis, one of the worst offenses in the country.

The other No. 1 seeds project to be familiar faces, too: ACC champ Notre Dame, SEC champ SC and Baylor, which won the Big 12 regular-season title but then ran into the aforementioned Morgantown Express in the league final.

Miami's calling card is their defense, and that is something that will, hopefully, travel with them during the NCAA tournament. Will Woj, a player and assistant at Duke, be auditioning to be Coach K's eventual successor?

Jewish centre gets 2nd threat
Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, called the bomb threat "despicable" given the center's service to the community. Last week's threat involved an email message, and that incident is still under investigation.

The Cardinals are tied for 12th with Florida State in free-throw percentage, connecting on just 68.9 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe.

The NCAA rewarded the Cards No. 2 overall schedule (in the RPI) with a No. 2 seed.

The victor of the Midwest Region's First and Second Rounds in Tulsa will advance to play at Sprint Center in Kansas City, March 23 and 25, where the Jayhawks have already played four times this season. "If our fans can find tickets there, it can be a great site for us to play some outstanding basketball".

Charles Barkley of TBS Sunday night picked them to do just that.

Traditional power Syracuse, a Final Four team a year ago, and Illinois State, a team that won 27 games and went 17-1 in its conference, were left at the altar.

New Orleans' inclusion in the field as the Southland Conference champion is quite a story. Throughout the video, he calls Oklahoma State one of the most tradition rich programs in the country. In a statement released by the school, Pitino credited the team's schedule.

"I definitely think it was eye-opening because after we lost we went home", Nairn said.

Though current seniors Derrick Walton Jr. and Zak Irvin played important roles on that team and Mark Donnal, Sean Lonergan and Andrew Dakich shared the ride from the bench, this had a different feeling.
