With just 18 months left on his contract with Arsenal, former German global Michael Ballack has advised Mesut Ozil to switch to the Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich in the summer.
Ozil has not yet signed a new deal with Gunners despite only having 18 months left on his current contract.
Mesut Ozil would not get in to Arsenal's Invincibles side ahead of the legendary Dennis Bergkamp, according to former Gunners defender Martin Keown.
"Mesut in an unbelievable player and he knows he's an idol of Arsenal fans in London".
Arsenal have twice won the FA Cup since Mesut Ozil arrived for £42m in 2013, however failure to win the Premier League for the past 12 years has seen pressure mount on manager, Arsene Wenger. "He knows that he is one of the undisputed stars at Arsenal", Ballack told Sport Bild.

When it comes to testing himself, Silva views the fight with Brunson as an interesting challenge, but not the one he seeks most . Brunson, who has no official fighter nickname listed, is eight years Silva's junior with a record of 16 wins and 4 losses.
"Ozil starts deep and you don't know when he is coming or going", Keown said, referencing the Germany international's tendency to drift in and out of games.
"A lot of clubs would love to have him".
His initial reasoning may not come as much of a surprise-Bergkamp was voted Arsenal's second-greatest player of all time in a 2008 fan poll conducted by the club-but Keown went on to criticise Ozil's work rate. These are all reasons for an extension. "This could convince him to stay at Arsenal but if he wants to win more trophies I think he should consider a transfer to Bayern Munich".
The 28-year-old has been linked with a number of big clubs in recent weeks, but Ballack feels a return to his native country would be the best option if he were to make a transfer.
